Dear all,
As i was singing the song "with Christ in the vessel we'll smile at the storm, smile at the storm..." to myself after dinner on monday, the images of the children worshipping God on the third day of the Tanglin Halt camp came to mind.
To vary the song for the kids, we had slowly omitted the keywords of the song one by one. For example, we would sing the song without the word "vessel", then additionally without "storm" etc etc. When Anna (who was helping to lead) said "no Christ", the kids immediately protested. "Cannot! How can?!" It was simply heartwarming to see such innocent faith -- believing that we can do without everything except Christ.
It also brought to mind the cluedo game where Eleora was acting as an anti-Christ tau hway auntie. When she was attacking Christ and asked the kids questions like "Jesus Christ, how true is he?", some of them answered "100% true! Infinity!"
It is this childlike faith that God wants us to hold on to. An unshakable and yet simple belief that Christ is the rock on which we stand, and an unquenchable desire to keep seeking Him and simply being close to Him.
Let's be like children once again.
"I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven." - Matt 18:3
Have a blessed week,
xinjie
